Responsibilities
• Work with the leadership team to identify strategic micro-segments and guide the SDR (Sales Development Representative) team in targeting the right prospects
• Engage with prospects to provide the overarching value proposition of Our Client’s intelligence and machine learning solution
• Articulate case studies and industry solutions (use cases) from a technology and benefit realization perspective
• Demonstrate use cases using Our Client’s intelligence platform
• Demonstrate the power and ease of usage of Our Client’s intelligence platform
• Identify the business and technology problems that are relevant for a given prospect
• Articulate how the power of Our Client’s platform can help solve the identified problem(s)
• Identify use cases/case studies that are closest to the identified problems and describe those in detail
• Create a high-level solution architecture and expected value realization for the prospect
• Help the technical team identify unsaid needs of the prospect
• Work along with the sales and technical team for nurturing the prospect till deal closure

KPIs
• Prospect conversion ratio
• Proportion of prospects who are interested in initiating proof of concepts
• Quality of pre sales material shared with SDR and sales teams
• Quality of engagement with prospects
• Comprehensiveness of demonstrations


Required expertise and experience
• Technical
o Familiarity with data wrangling concepts using XL or more preferably SQL – idea of advanced filters, joins (VLOOKUP in XL), pivots in XL, aggregating data using group-by etc.
o Experience of creating graphs and charting for storytelling using data – idea of trends, funnels, Pie charts and various types of charting options
o Prior experience as a business analyst or data analyst will be very helpful
• Business domain
o Ability to grasp business problems and being able to engage stakeholders in discussions around solution conceptualization
o Ability to understand business KPIs and their relevance to the top and bottom line for businesses like retail, health care, financial services and e-commerce
o Familiarity with customer management and marketing including use cases like digital acquisition, sales funnel optimization, cross-sell, voice of customer and customer satisfaction, NPS, churn, customer servicing etc.
o A good understanding of any one of the business domains mentioned earlier (retail, financial services, health care)
• Sales and business development
o Proven sales track record
o Deep understanding of B2B selling and ability to create and nurture relationships with stakeholders and decision makers
o Strong ability to engage business and technology leaders and understand their pain points and key initiatives that are important for their organization
o Excellent communication skills
o Ability of understanding competitive products and market landscape
o Ability to handle objections and navigate difficult discussions with prospects

Other desirable competencies
• Familiarity with basics of data storage – databases, cloud storage, Hadoop, NoSQL
• Familiarity with basic technology concepts like APIs, data pipeline, scalability etc.
• Familiarity with the very basics of machine learning – basic knowledge of what is supervised and un-supervised ML, challenges of building an ML model etc.
• Preferably a person who has been able to sell without the reliance of a reputed brand name
• Strong relationship building and networking skills
• Having connects in the focus industry verticals
• Having past experience of selling products in areas like data management, business insights, analytics and machine learning
